After many years of breeding buying and selling commercial Santa Gertrudis and Santa Hereford Cross cattle, the opportunity arose to purchase some Wyangarie bred stud cows and a stud bull, Wilchez Commando.

Rosevale Park Santa Gertrudis Stud was registered in 2002. Rosevale Park was originally registered as a stud name by Elizabeth in November 1985 with the Arabian Horse Society, so it was decided that the cattle stud should go under the same name. We still breed purebred and partbred arabians with an edurance focus and have used them for stock work, campdrafting, polocrosse, pony club and sporting.

Rosevale Park Santa Gertrudis is currently run by Elizabeth Benstead and her four sons Joshua,Michael, Jamie and Christopher.

All boys have a keen interest in horses and cattle and are regular attendees at horse and cattle events (including Santa Gertrudis Junior show Warwick) in Southern Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

Rosevale Park Santa Gertrudis has a strong commercial focus in mind with our stud breeding programme. We select for growth, structural soundness, temperament, fertility and type our cattle have good constitution and are efficient easy doers.

Current Sires;

Wyangarie Oyster by Glenaan Grandslam was purchased from Wyangarie Stud Beaudesert in 2003

Diamond H Marshall E163 by Strathmore Marshall was purchased as a used sire in 2005 also from the Wyangarie Stud Beaudesert.

A large well muscled highly fertile bull that is a consistent calf getter having run with 70-100 cows per year since his purchase.

Bremervale Pharoah (P) (The Lakes Gibraltar X Rosevale Rowena U10) was purchased from the Bremervale Stud at Agshow Sale 2008 . He is a well muscled poll bull with excellent breed character and quiet temperament with excellent bloodlines and strong Breedplan figures. Pharoah was shown successfully which included being judged Junior and Grand Champion bull at Boonah Show. His Dam Rosevale Rowena U10 has had eight calves in nine years. Pharoah’s calves are prodominantly poll, very well muscled, quiet natured & dark red in colour.

Rosevale Park B12 by Diamond H Marshall E163 has been retained for use in the stud. He is very correct and well muscled young sire and his calves are very correct and well muscled, quiet natured and dark red in colour.

In 2008 we began an Artificial Insemination programme using Watasanta Zag and Dundee Ulysses. Artificial Insemination programmes will continue into the future to introduce new genetics into the herd.

Over the years a number of cows and heifers have been purchased from the Santalands Stud Toowoomba and Rosevale Stud Jandowae. Bloodlines include Tyndale Noddy, Rosevale Rippon, Rosevale Matlock, KellyWallah Commodus, Hardigreen Park Boon, Gyranda Yankee & Gyranda X-hibitionist just to name a few.

More recently some PTIC cows by Eidsvold Station R37(P) and Swan Hill 6659(P) with calves by Golden Elm Nahum(P) were purchased from Tongallery Pty Ltd Beaudesert they currently run with Wyangarie Oyster.

We have been selling paddock bulls for a number of years and this year offer bulls at Ag Show Sale. Sale bulls are vet checked, semen tested, morphology tested, scanned for P8 fat, Rib Fat & IMF, scrotal measurements taken and vaccinated for Tick Fever, 7 in 1 and 3 Day sickness to guarantee their fertility and soundness.
